Sorry for the downtime, but our server was damaged by an anomaly during a wormhole jump.

The fluxjiggler broke and also the data capacitor had to be replaced. The good news is that all the mice powering our server survived. Go mammals!

Now that everything is working again we can get back to developing the next version

Ubuntu bug

If you are using Firefox on Ubuntu 10.10, AKA "Maverick Meerkat", and find that Shingouz has stopped working for you, look in your addons for "Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.9.2" and disable it, then restart. Shingouz should operate after doing this, however, YMMV.

Shingouz 0.7.4 released

The same old in new package.

This seemed to work with the current firefox-nightly, so the maxVersion with this is 12.0a1. This should give us yet another few weeks

And just to keep you interested; a new version with actual new stuff is on the works

How to remove building?

Greetings all,

How can I remove a building from Shingouz? The sector I work with recently lost two buildings, but Shingouz still shows them in the various data views. It looks like I'll have to wait the 50+ ticks it takes for the building to be removed automatically, but is there a way to remove a building before that?

Yet another unexciting release thanks to Mozilla running amok with version numbers. The only thing new in this version is the version number itself, so make the most of it

This time we tried to be a bit clever; this release was tested from Firefox 3.6.19 to the nightly-builds from 8.* -series. So hopefully that will last for a few weeks

Unreliable data due to ajax

I've just tried Shingouz for the first time, and I'm having trouble getting it to work. Whenever I land on a planet, I get the following error:

Entering planet. Warning: Unreliable data due to ajax. Upload cancelled.

When trying to land on my own starbase, I get this error:

Entering starbase with a key. Warning: Unreliable data due to ajax. Upload cancelled.

When trying to enter a building that is not currently listed in the sector, I get this error:

Entering building trade with a key. Error: Server says this object is missing from the database. Enter via

Arty or Illegal own building error

When I land on my own illegals in Arty, the tiny little green window pops up in the upper right corner but contains no words. So basically nothing happens.

My Orion legal buildings are fine when I do it there.

The only way I got it to work is go to the More Options then Set Trade Price. (Too many clicks).

With today's announcement of a new building chain and products that are available to buy and sell in an SB, it seems that the increase in the number of commodity lines has caused Shingouz to not update Starbases. It keeps telling me that the SB is not in the database, yet when I click back out and land again, it says visited 0.0 ticks ago. Return to the trade screen, same result:

Entering starbase trade screen. Error: Server says this object is missing from the database. Enter via "Enter starbase" / "Land on planet" and then try again.

Exact same result on Trading Outposts... Planets , same results.

Unless there is some kind of server issue going on, my suspicions are above.

Not too critical I would imagine. I do not use planets, SBs, or TOs, in calculating my sector needs, although I imagine some do.

Error when reading my own building stats
